Picture this: your child comes home from school with a poor attitude and doesn’t want to start their homework. They seem to not want to go back to school the next day and are struggling with attending their classes. They may throw a fit or have outbursts at the idea of going back to school. Having a negative attitude towards math class is one of the biggest ways to tell that it may be time to seek out math help for your kids!

While the thought of math homework help may feel daunting to both parents and children, here’s the good news: we’ve all been there. Most parents have had a child struggle with a subject at school at some point or another. There are so many great options to provide your kids with the math homework help they need. Before all else, however, you may ask yourself: How do you know if your child needs help with math?

Here are some of the tell-tale signs your child is struggling with their math and may require personalized help with math homework:

1. They hate going to school: your child may put up a fight when having to go to school in the morning, or they may have a bad attitude about subjects they had previously loved.

2. They are struggling with their schooling across the board: A child struggling with math may also be struggling with science, or English too! Keep an eye on your child’s grades, as they influence each other!

3. They can’t do basic math: A child that is struggling with their math homework may be unable to do daily math skills. This means that they may be having difficulties with telling the time, or they may not be able to complete basic tasks like doubling recipes or counting.

While nobody wants their child to face difficulties at school, there are some great options for providing personalized math homework help.

Tutoring: One of the most popular ways to help kids with their math homework, tutors provide qualified and experienced math instruction. Either online or in-person, tutors can help students build their math foundation, or can provide math help on an as-need basis.

Online: Finding resources online is becoming easier and easier! If tutoring may not be the right method of providing math help for your kids, there are tons of games and math activities online. These can be specifically designed to help kids with their basic math knowledge and can also be tons of fun!

Peers: Some children only need occasional math homework help, and if feasible, peer tutoring is a great option. Finding a student who excels at math and can provide the right math help takes some of the stresses of math instruction away, but also allows for learning to still be fun!

Finding math homework help for your kids may take some time and effort, but it’s always worth it. Whether it be peer tutoring or online help, giving students the math help they need can be so beneficial. The skills and confidence gained in and out of the classroom last far beyond their school years!
